I’ve got to say as welcome as ‘No to Yes’ converts are to Scottish independence, I’m very wary of media-specific ‘converts’ – particularly the one who was author of ‘The Vow’ – Murray Foote;

“As the newspaper editor responsible for ‘The Vow’ you may be surprised to hear I’ve always been sympathetic to Scottish Independence – but on balance I never considered it the universal cure for Scotland’s social ills”.

(And there’s a stand out problem with that statement given his alleged latter-day ‘conversion’; his condescending “sympathetic”. That’s awfully big of him!)

Just who in the blue blazes does he, did he think he was sat on-high to exalt his personal opinion as a fabricated ‘fact’ upon the rest of us? To platform-crash a coach and horses through the Purdah period to “shape events and change opinion” with ‘The Vow’ which was a propaganda masterclass in manipulation and in voter expectation management to set the stage for Yes ‘losing’ the ‘referendum’ (which was in fact a full-blown propaganda war!) at a time when polling had revealed Scotland was on the cusp of securing a Yes vote.

I for one am not convinced ‘The Vow‘ was the brainchild of Murray Foote at all but rather a directive sent from the bowels of David Cameron’s ‘Nudge Unit’ at 10 Downing Street which needed to be spun as if it were a ‘Scottish’ initiative. And which if we all remember afterwards was drip-fed on spin-cycle routinely by the ‘Scottish’ Westminster Party branches and their Unionist-media outlets, flanked by a raft of gaslighting-media ‘Flying Monkeys’ claiming to have delivered ‘The Vow’, when clearly no such thing ever happened.

So rather than go all weak at the knees and start with all the singing and the happy-clappy ‘Kumbaya’ around the campfire, let’s calm our jets shall we?

Can we all just for the sake of our own sanity, not just decide to wilfully brain-fart away 300 years of British Colonialism and the fact that the British State is a formidable, accomplished propaganda (and military) machine that’s raison d’etre is to subdue its opponents, doing so primarily in their own minds; often by carrying out fake acts of admiration, celebrity love-bombing, flying the Saltire over No 10 and the infamous ‘Imperial Masters’ Glasgow Tour!

These superficial British tactics are incredibly effective especially when they steep themselves in victimhood in order to guilt-shame their opponents to feel sorry for them, yet simultaneously instil in the ‘lesser’ Scottish partner, a lifelong conditioning to perceive ourselves as being morally and capably ‘inferior‘ to the British construct – and therefore should be ‘grateful’ for their ‘superior’ acts of so-called ‘benevolence’ which are in fact rooted in pathological hypocrisy and entitlement. Sound familiar?

We would do well if we’ve any consistent sense, to remind ourselves that Scotland has a mind-boggling wealth of natural resources and it is that wealth that underpins and puts the ‘precious‘ in “precious Union“.

And so we mustn’t be naive. We must consider that ‘former’ British State media-acolytes like Murray Foote may attempt to use their ‘respected, converted’ roles to influence and channel us into a ‘compromise’, to somehow tie us to Westminster under a ‘Devo Max’ settlement (in all but name) i.e. under a ‘Government of National Unity’ that in time and with unfolding events finds a path winding itself all the way back to the status quo; to introduce ‘One Nation‘ legislation that prevents full, irreversible and normal State of independence for Scotland.

We need to be able to trust unreservedly these crucial media figures that have such influence on shaping our reality; how we perceive the world and they us, doing so safe in the knowledge that regardless of whatever sociopolitical differences and difficulties we encounter along the way, are promoting an independent Scotland’s, socially productive and peaceful interests.

So personally, whilst I wish these ‘Scots’ media-figures no ill-will, I’d prefer it if those who’ve actively participated in the Union’s 2012-onwards propaganda campaign on behalf of another country’s Parliament against Scotland, are – post-independence – never let anywhere near a mainstream media camera, microphone or newspaper outlet in Scotland ever again.

This isn’t out of bitterness or retribution but pragmatism regarding media-people who as big boys and girls in 2014 knew full well they were lying to the people of Scotland and have done ever since. But who’ve only now had their ‘Road to Damascus’ miracle moment. I just don’t buy it.

Though for some, whose shoes are most definitely not a place to be, may have realised for themselves or even been briefed that the ‘Gaslighting Gilligan‘ game is up and that #ToryAnalytica’s failing #BrexitCoup d’etat is a busted flush which will in due course, karmically, unceremoniously expose itself and it’s protagonists for the democratic-sham it always was…

Scotland already has the media talent and experience of people we can trust; some are household names in the independence movement; many haven’t even left school yet.

So rather than risk our future on (being grateful to) the Union’s dinosaurs – let’s put the future of Scotland – in the future of Scotland’s hands…
